I met Abbie Hoffman in 1980 in Chicago. He and Jerry Ruben were giving dueling speeches in two rooms side-by-side. In one room Abby was giving a speech called “Anarchy in the 80s” and in the other room room Jerry was talking about “Entrepreneurship in the 80s”.
Afterwards, they both came together in the same room with Bobby Seals as the moderator for a debate. It was pretty amazing.
Got to meet all three afterwards. Asked Abbie to sign a few books including “Steal this Book” and “Woodstock Nation”.
