Robert Creeley‘s Centennial this week (born May 26, in Arlington, Mass.). We’ll be focusing all this week on Robert Creeley, in particular celebrations at the University of Buffalo, where he was a member of the UB faculty from 1966 through to 2003, when he left to become a Distinguished Professor at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
A two-day symposium will take place later this week at the Buffalo campus
and further Creeley celebrations – A film series concludes this week at Anthology Film Archives (last night it featured the remarkable work of Bruce Jackson and Diane Christian – there’ll be a further showing tomorrow night of that work at Buffalo’s Black Rock Arts Center)

UB’s Creeley Symposium will be split into two sections, the first, Studies in Creeley: Performances, Artist Books, Editions, Films, the second, Creeley: Colleague, Collaborator, Teacher, Mentor
The remarkable Robert Creeley. A pretty good place to start would be Pennsound’s extraordinary Robert Creeley collection (Creeley was a generous supporter and contributor to this collection). On the occasion of the Centennial, the co-director of the archive, Chris Mustazza, has produced a distillation, a Listening Station (“a poetry concert produced and with liner notes”)
