Ginsberg Centennial. Announcing a major event taking place this summer in London
(Sunday July 12  7.30 pm) – “Rejoice in the American bard and 20th Century icon, Allen Ginsberg, with an eclectic mix of guests spanning generations and disciplines” (part of a wider Poetry International Festival). The performances will take place at the Southbank at the Queen Elizabeth Hall

Participants include Thurston Moore, Scanner, Youth, James Lavelle, Stew (playwright from Passing Strange), Gina Birch, Anne Waldman, Steven Taylor and others

The previous month ( Wednesday June 3  8.00pm) – on Allen’s birthday – a full-scale celebration in New York at The St Mark’s Poetry Project

“Through his wide-ranging progressive work, Allen has inspired and influenced artists and activists throughout the globe for seven decades. Today, during an era filled with too many authoritarian leaders at home and abroad, and with too many young people unsure about the possibility of creating meaningful social change, Allen Ginsberg’s historic poems seem as crucial for American consciousness-raising as ever…The event will feature poets and musicians who worked with Allen, as well as younger poets and musicians who have been influenced by Allen’s work.”

and, before that (Monday May 11 -7.p.m.) in San Francisco at The Chapel – The Kronos Quartet with Poets performing Howl and other poems

The Kronos Quartet is joined by Andy Cabic (Vetiver), Peter Coyote, Kim Stanley Robinson, Dominique DiPrima, Tongo Eisen-Martin, Eleni Sikelianos, Brontez Purnell, and Ramblin’ Jack Elliott to celebrate HOWL and Allen Ginsberg’s 100th Birthday.

Just three of the many events being arranged/scheduled this year for this year’s Ginsberg Centennial.   A year-long celebration.  We’ll keep you posted.
