Friday’s Weekly Round-Up -714

Bob Kaufman Centennial celebrations continue in San Francisco today and tomorrow. Tonight at 5 pm (PST) at Golden Sardine (sic), a poetry reading with readings from Kaufman by James Cagney, Garrett Caples, Kevin Dublin, Tongo Eisen-Martin, Erica Lewis, & (in French translation)  Quentin Jeanroy.

Following that, at 7 pm (PST), at Sunnyco Studio, moderated by John Geluardi  – Raymond Foye and Tate Swindell discuss The Collected Poems followed by choice words from San Francisco poet laureate, devorah major.

Saturday, the location is The Lion’s Den, and a group reading of “Second April”, with additional words and music by Eric Mingus

In addition, Nicholas James Whittington, of Impart Ink has produced a limited edition letterpress broadside especially for the occasion (a limited edition of 100 copies), featuring Bob’s  “Bonsai Poems”.  Copies will be available at the events and all proceeds from sales will go to his son, Robert Parker Kaufman

Archivist Scissors, Anne Waldman’s new book (we noted it here) gets a book launch tomorrow at New York’s Mast Booksand at Harvard this coming Tuesday, with a reading at the Houghton Library (6 pm (EST), followed by a reception at The Poetry Room.
