  1. I stayed up late listening to my dear friend Anselm Hollo. I miss him so much. In a few minutes I was suddenly in the presence of his working mind, captivated by his generous and knowing laughter, involved in his cloud of questions and discoveries… I found myself adding, arguing, considering… I forgot that he was dead, it was like getting. one of his 4 am phone calls and plunging without delay to the heart of the matter. We talked all night. It is impossible for me to say how much your invocation of Anselm means to me. I hope to one day find the power to also say how important he was to American poetry, how essential! Thank you!
