Joanne Kyger, beloved Joanne Kyger, would have been 89 years old today. Here’s vintage footage from the San Francisco Poetry Center Archive, Joanne reading in Bolinas, on November 20, 1974, (at the home of her friends Margot Patterson Doss and John Doss), reading from her Arif Press chapbook, Trip Out and Fall Back , a chapbook which featured intricate fantasy architectural drawings by the artist Gordon Baldwin, who was present in the audience for this occasion and whom, in the first poem that Joanne reads here, she lovingly and wittily evokes.
