Saluting today the late great Lawrence Ferlinghetti (through the lens of photographer- filmmaker and his friend, Christopher Felver) on what would have been his 102nd birthday.
Chris has, over the years, extensively documented Ferlinghetti, both in his books, (Ferlinghetti Portrait (1998), Beat (2007)), and in his award-winning documentaries, West Coast Beat and Beyond (1984), The Coney Island of Lawrence Ferlinghetti (1996), and, the definitive documentary, from 2013, Ferlinghetti – A Rebirth of Wonder (for a conversation from 2020 with filmmaker Haydn Reiss about that – see here)
