“Nude With Onions” – the iconic painting of Peter Orlovsky, painted in 1954 by Robert LaVigne, which went up for auction at Sotheby’s yesterday, (item 44 – estimated value, between one hundred-and-fifty thousand and one hundred-and-seventy thousand dollars), perhaps surprisingly, failed to meet the reserve, and was unable to find a buyer at that price.
