Bob Dylan’s birthday today – Bob Dylan is (believe it or not!) 77 – As always, world-wide, plenty of Bob Dylan celebrations. Tonight in New York it’s “Tomorrow Is A Long Time”, a special show at the Town Hall, produced by Hal Willner, paying tribute to his legendary 1963 breakout concert there, a headlining solo-performance in front of a thousand people.
“Tomorrow is a Long Time”, as the Town Hall announces, “reimagines Dylan’s masterful concert, with colorful interpretations by a diverse cast of musicians and artists” (backed by the eponymous Town Hall Ensemble. under the musical direction of Steven Bernstein)”. Among the musicians and guests scheduled to appear – Bob Neuwirth, Peter Wolf, Geoff Muldaur, Teddy Thompson, Bill Murray, Steve Buscemi, Lisa Fischer, Laurie Anderson and Anne Waldman – and plenty others.
If you’re not able to make Town Hall, New York City. Like we say, there are countless other celebrations, going on. Here’s posters/info from just a few of them.
Happy Birthday, Bob! – See you later Allen Ginsberg! (Allen’s birthday coming up shortly, June 3rd)
