It’s been a little over a year since internet pioneer Ken Jordan and “psychonaut’ Daniel Pinchbeck launched the Realitysandwich.com website, and they marked the anniversary with the publication of Toward 2012 a selection of 36 essays featured throughout that first year. The Third Mind: American Artists Contemplate Asia, 1860–1989 at the New York City Guggenheim Museum curated by Alexandra Munroe came to a close last week. There’s still a decent online presentation that includes Gary Snyder reading poems of Philip Whalen, Ezra Pound and Jack Kerouac as well as some of his own work, “Endless Streams and Mountains,” “Riprap and Cold Mountains,” and “Mu ch’i’s Persimmons,” all selected by Snyder to accompany the exhibition.
